What could be more convenient, or provide more choice, than a street with a variety of shops selling different things? It’s the fact that many people can’t be bothered to stagger more than 100 yds from their cars that gives rise to the myth of inconvenience. And the fact that they say they have no time, yet somehow manage to squeeze in an average of 25 hours a week television viewing. Not anything to do with the failings of most shops and independent retailers.
